Stablecoins

A balance scale introduces questions about stable value.

Stablecoins aim to track a reference value, often a currency. They use different mechanisms and can have different issuers, collateral, restrictions and redemption arrangements. The shared category name does not make them interchangeable.

Distinguish the target from the price offered in a market, direct issuer redemption from service conversion, and a credited token balance from a local-money payout. Each depends on its own conditions. A peg can be disrupted; a quoted rate and a small fee still need review as part of the whole route.

Receiving compatibility matters too. Identify the exact token representation, selected network and supported destination instructions. Do not treat a wrapped representation or a matching ticker as proof of acceptance.
